Wow!
It’s November, people! Do you know what that means? Focused attention on gratitude and thankfulness. It is so important to take time to reflect on the blessings. It’s a time to condition and adjust our hearts to find the grace and provision given through the year(s).
Today specifically, let’s reflect on the scripture in Lamentations 3:23. ( NLT)
“Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.”
Aren’t you thankful? Not only do we get a fresh start when we recognize Jesus as our savior and that we can’t make it in this life without Him, but even beyond that, His faithfulness is unwavering, and His mercy is endless. God knew that we were going to make mistakes, fail Him, and walk in our way at times. It’s fortunate for us that His faithfulness isn’t dependent on ours. He gives us grace for the times where we start to wander and mess up. Each morning when we wake, He gifts us with another opportunity to walk with Him and serve Him- leaving our yesterday behind us.
In Matthew 6:34 it says -
So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
We need to receive that mercy and grace the Lord has given us and walk in the present because it truly is a gift. Don’t allow your slip-ups and failures to shackle you in shame and concrete you to the past. Don’t permit the anxiety of the next day to keep you from your present blessings. Flip the narrative! Ask for forgiveness! Ask for peace! Be thankful for the lessons learned; wisdom gained, grace given, mercy supplied.
God doesn’t change - His mercy and grace remain the same. Let us remain thankful for that.
